Why Ohio and
North Carolina?

Ohio and North Carolina are close to our founders’ hearts—they grew up in one state and fell in love in the other. Many (many!) car trips through the winding roads of Ohio, West Virginia and North Carolina created a deep affection and desire to honor the culture and community of these spaces.

Beyond personal ties, the musical influence of the region—a portion of Appalachia dotted with mining towns and anchored by two states with robust creative economies—brings us the banjo, fiddle, and the guitar, all traditional Appalachian instruments. The culinary influence of the region brings us farm-to-table feasts—a trend for some, but a long-established way of life for those in the agriculturally-rich regions of North Carolina and Ohio.

To celebrate the richness of the cultural terrain, we gather for a weekend of music, food, and experiences inspired by our many road trips and our deep roots. Ohiolina is an event for everyone—families young and old, friends, neighbors, and lovers of the creative arts.
